Once your child is 3 years old you can start claiming free early education from the following term, from any of these dates:
·       1 September
·       1 January
·       1 April

The Committee

The playgroup is run by a voluntary committee and is elected at the AGM in the first quarter of each academic year.

Without the committee the playgroup would not run.

We are proud of our committee they are a great asset to our Playgroup. For more information see the Committee page.

Coloured Group T-Shirts &
Sweatshirts

T-Shirts and sweatshirts are available to purchase for your child, they help your child recognise colours and helps them to belong, giving them pride in them. These can be purchased at any time. They come in red, green, yellow, and blue, according to your child's colour group, and display the Abbeydale Playgroup logo. Group Leaders wear the same T-shirts/tabards in their group colour.

Penny Pots

The children are always busy during sessions - painting, model-making etc., so please don't forget to collect these works of art at the end of the session. Your child will be very proud of their hard work. They are always labelled and laid out on the tables just inside the door, by each child’s name card.

30 Hour Funding

Some children are entitled to 30 hours of funding, we are able to split this with other settings if need be.

Please refer to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk for further information and to apply, if your child is eligible you must provide us with your 30 hour code before funding is claimed to enable us to verify it. This code is renewable every 3 months, it is your responsibility to do this otherwise you may receive an invoice to cover your child's fees.

Notice Board

The Abbeydale Playgroup notice board is situated inside.

Please read it as it contains useful information and details of topics for the week, activities and rota duties.

Suitable Clothing

No long dresses, hooded tops, attached dummies or jewellery to be worn by the children please, as these items present a safety risk during play. It would also be appreciated if the children could wear clothes that they can get dirty and manage themselves. Please ensure your child wears appropriate shoes, no flip flops, Crocs, Heeleys etc.

Nappies

If your child wears nappies, please inform us. We do not discriminate against children in nappies, but we do ask you to provide spare nappies and wipes to hang on their cloakroom hook for us to change him/her as required.

Children must arrive for their session wearing a fresh nappy as we do not want to interrupt their play time to change a nappy.

2 Year Olds

Some 2 year olds in England may also be entitled to free early education.

Please refer to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk for further information and to apply. If your child is eligible please provide a copy of your confirmation to playgroup asap.

Important Information

EYFS

In our setting we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, often referred to as EYFS.

This framework is used for every child from birth and up to and including the child's reception year.

We started using Tapestry in 2017, this has enabled us to upload observation's, photos and videos of which parents are then able to login and view at home.

Details of how you can access Tapestry will be given out to parents/guardians during our welcome sessions in September.

Please click on the link below to see the EYFS framework. If you have any questions please feel free to talk to your child's Key Person or the Playleader.
