We have a fantastic new space which is for our sole use and has it’s own extensive garden area. This enables us to really focus on what is best for the children and allows much more scope for messy play, outdoor play and even bring in Forest School principles.
We loved being at the community center for so many years but the restrictions that being in a shared building bring, along with increasing costs meant that it just wasn’t viable any more.
We hope that you will join us on this journey and that your children and those in years to come will enjoy being part of the Abbeydale Playgroup family.

Are you keeping the name? Yes, we will still be serving the community of Abbeydale, we’re only just up the road!
Will the staff team/structure stay the same? Yes, we’re still a community based charitable, committee run playgroup.
Why did you move? We were at the Community Centre for many years and in that time the expectations and aspirations for early years settings changed considerably. There is a big emphasis on outdoor learning which we weren’t able to offer in the Community Centre, and other things that you might not want to do at home like messy play! Having our own dedicated space means that we can develop our resources and really make the space the very best for the children. It also give us more flexibility to meet parents needs as we can consider extended days/hours/holiday clubs etc.
